Upgrading Guide

(For PHP-Nuke 7.5 to 7.9 & NukeClan 1.0.6)

Welcome to the installation guide of NukeClan 1.1.0.
This guide is meant to help you install NukeClan 1.1.0 step by step.

CAUTION:  Before starting to upgrade your website, we strongly recommend to do a backup of all your data, including all your files located on your FTP as well as your SQL database.
NukeClan.org cannot be held responsible for any damage done or any data loss (partial or complete) on your site resulting from the upgrade, if you have not respected this step. .

0). RESPECT COPYRIGHTS !!

After this little reminder, we can begin the upgrade ;)

1). Eliminating all of the useless FTP files & uploading the new ones
For security reasons, and to eliminate all risks of having conflicts between the old and newer version of NukeClan, you must eliminate a certain number of files (listed below) OR delete the totality of your old NukeClan files located on your FTP, and then upload the new ones.

Solution 1 (the slowest):

Delete the following files (if a file doesn't exist, go to the next one in the list):

Delete the contents of the blocks folder

Delete the folder files

Then, delete ALL of the folders included in the modules folder.

Once this is done, all you have to do is replace the old files by the new ones contained in the html folder of NukeClan 1.1.0.

Solution 2 (the fastest) :

Delete every file located on your FTP (after having done a backup of your data, of course, unless you really want to lose your data permanently), then upload the contents of the html folder of NukeClan 1.1.0 towards your site installation.

3). Upgrading your DB (Database) & Configuring your site

WARNING :
1st thing : the upgrade script, despite its capacity to upgrade a database from PHP-Nuke 7.5 to PHP-Nuke 7.9, as well as from NukeClan 1.0.6, has been coded according to the native SQL files and not modified by anybody! (something you may have done). You must change back the structure of the tables (if you have modified them) to their original structure (and this is particularly true for the tables nukeclan_match and nukeclan_trainings ) before running the upgrade script , or else you will end up with a non-fonctionnal site (because the installer will not have modified your tables properly), or even lose some of your data..

2nd thing : if you are upgrading from NukeClan 1.0.6, certain data will be lost, and this is because of the major difference between the two versions.
This includes and is limited to:
- Clan members and their rank disappear (old module replaced by a new one)
- The game profiles of clan members disappear (old module replaced by a new one)
- the various forum mods that came with PHP-Nuke Platinium disappear
- the IRC module is eliminated until it is updated (security reasons)
- the IP_Ban module is eliminated, it is now replaced by NukeSentinel
- the screenshots and the configuration of the Matchs module disappear
- the Tournois module is eliminated until it is updated (security reasons)
- the Projet module is eliminated until it is updated (security reasons)
- the Shout_Box module and all of its shouts disappear (you will need to reinstall the latest version available)
- the module Scrolling_Messages is eliminated until it is updated (security reasons)
- the Supporters module and all of its tables are eliminated (you will need to reinstall the latest version available)
- the Banner_Ads module is eliminated, it is now replaced by the Advertising module
- the Defi module stops existing as a module, it is now integrated into the Matchs module (and every Defy Us demands not validated/deleted will be eliminated during the upgrade process)
- the Docs module is eliminated for good
- the Protector module (as well as all of its data) is eliminated for good
- the Recrutement module stops existing as a module, it is now integrated into the Member_Clan module (and every Recruitment demand not validated/deleted will be eliminated during the upgrade process)
- the Staff module is eliminated for good
- the Teamspeak module is eliminated, it is now replaced by the TSDisplay module (new Teamspeak module)
- the Top_Sites module is eliminated for good
- the Universal module is eliminated for good

Once your files are uploaded, go to the following address: http://www.your_site.com/nukeclan.php. The automatic installer will detect which version of PHP-Nuke/NukeClan you have, and will upgrade your database automatically.

4). Making your NC 1.0.6 themes compatible with NC 1.1.0

- That is impossible or nearly impossible, what you would need to do is undo the changes you have made with the file themeconversion_en.txt AND the changes you have also done with the other file, themeconversion Platinium - NC 1.0.6.txt, beforeapplying this time (and not undoing them like the two previous files) the changes located in the themeconversion_NC-1.1.0_en.txt file of NukeClan 1.1.0.
If you feel like you have the courage to do it, you're welcome to do so, in theory it should work.

5). Making your PHP-Nuke themes compatible with NC 1.1.0

- As most of you already know, most PHP-Nuke themes are not compatible with NukeClan 1.1.0, therefore, it is necessary to convert those PHP-Nuke themes. You will find inside the ThemeConversion folder , located in the .zip archive of NukeClan 1.1.0, the file themeconversion_NC-1.1.0_en.txt which will help you convert your PHP-Nuke themes.

CAUTION:  the file we provide you with allows you to convert your themes so there aren't any problemes with the new mods installed in the forum, if you have any OTHER theme problem (not linked with the forum, ex: blocks on the right not showing), this comes from the coding of your theme! Since PHP-Nuke 7.x patched 3.1, you need to modify the following lines in your theme.php file (if it hasn't been done yet) :
